Nuvvala Nenila Review - Story
Krishna (Varun Sandesh), a young entrepreneur sent
to India to take over Ashoka Industries firm. On the road one day, his car is
rear ended by Mahalakshmi (Poorna), who pretends to be gallant to get out of
the trouble. As fate would have it, Krish turns out be her boss and decides to
handpick her to be the team lead for this project. Why pick a woman who hits
your car and skips work under false pretenses to be your assistant. Eventually
she’ll fall in love with you, of course!! She is paternal type of girlfriend
that showers boyfriends with attention, but ends up driving away. Krish is
charming chesty knows everything wants to be challenged. When Maahie was dumped
unceremoniously by her boyfriend, Krish simply insults her by telling her shell
be treated as a trash in her life. When provoked, Maahie decides to flirt her
boss and prove him wrong. Will he buy into her artifice, and will she
ultimately fall in love? Just treat that as a rhetorical question for now.
Nuvvala Nenila Review - Star Performance
Actor Varun Sandesh might have impressed us with his performances
in Kotha Bangarulokam and Happy Days, but here, the talented Varun manages to
undo everything that he has achieved so far by hamming like there is no
tomorrow. Poorna (aka. Shamna Kasim) has neither the looks nor the talent to
pull off this role. Vennela Kishore does a passable job. Uttej, Sana, Kishore,
Giridhar, Sreedhar and Dhanraj do nothing due to shoddily written
characterizations.
Nuvvala Nenila Review - Techinical Team
Director Trinadha Rao Nakkina delivers a carbon copy of a slick
Korean entertainer “Seducing Mr Perfect”, nothing new (a Freemake again!!).
While the story in the first half is a direct rip off, the second takes a
similar turns with few changes. In a typical Trinadha Rao Nakkina manner, the
climax gets pointlessly complicated with jumbles and fumbles. Although director
fails in putting together a good film, he scores in the cinematography &
music departments which are the only saving grace. Even if we ignore the lack
of originality, the formula that worked in the early 90’s (Tollywood) looks way
too outdated for today Besides the original version has a solid script and some
great chemistry. Here barring Vennela Kishore, everyone looks like they are
trying too hard to make you entertained. Not their mistake totally. Blame it on
the poor writing. The songs are nicely shot, while Sai Karthik music is zippy.
The background score mostly works fine. Cinematography by Gnanasekhar is beautiful
in demanding scenes. But the fight sequence in the end could have been shot
better. Editor Shravan should have worked a bit more on the film. Varun Sandesh
costumes in the film are good. Production Values of Amogh Creations are decent.
Nuvvala Nenila Review - Analysis
Nuvvala Nenila is nothing but a trashy rehash of South Korean
comedy film “Seducing Mr Perfect”. It worked back there but sadly in the
present times, this film neither falls in the category of boastful slapstick
genre nor in witty comedy. A weak script and screenplay joins forces with bad
humor and worse duologues to make the film an utterly unpleasant fare. Indeed,
there is not a single scene in the film, which can boast of providing any
entertainment in any way.
