Shankar - Vikram's 'I' crossed
the 25 days mark yesterday. The film released on 14th Jan in Tamil and Telugu
and soon had its Hindi version released as well. The worldwide screen count was
massive and the film was subsequently seen by audiences once, twice and
'adhukkum mela' for Vikram's monstrous hard work and the make-up magic.
A large section of the audience
felt that the film wasn't in Shankar's expected standard and that it was too
gory and explicit in some of the visuals. But, the film kept pulling in
audiences, and the Tamil version particularly collected very big at the
box-office. Even after Yennai Arindhaal, 'I' continues to hold on to a decent
chunk of shows.
Interestingly, the worldwide
gross of 'I' from all its three versions is more than 200 crores, which is a whopping
figure by any margin. Shankar - Rajini's Enthiran is the only other South
Indian film to cross the 200 crores worldwide gross mark. Remarkable indeed
