10 REASONS WHY WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO PK

 The blockbuster jodi of Rajkumar Hirani and Aamir Khan is back. And this time, they’ve come up with a film whose name itself is highly intriguing – PK. Before the film releases this Friday, here are 10 things about it that we are looking forward to.

Curiosity:

 Ever since the first motion poster released, the film has only sparked controversy and resultant curiosity. Some claim it’s a movie about an alien, some call PK a stranger in the city. The curiosity around the film is so strong, that the wait has gotten almost unbearable

Avatars

Aamir has experimented with various looks in the film: you can see him dressed in traditional Rajasthani attire, as a police officer, as an Englishman… his looks have further added to our yearning to watch the film and find out what his role exactly is.

Anushka & Sushant

The film has many firsts, one of them being Anushka’s and Aamir’s fresh pairing, along with Sushant Singh Rajput who’s working with this team for the first time. Anushka & Sushant look adorable in the song promos, and it’ll be interesting to see how all these new chemistries play out.

Music

Even though most songs are sung by Sonu Nigam and Shaan, they sound refreshing because these two star singers have crooned for a movie after a long time. The music takes us back to the soft romantic songs of the 90s, a much-needed respite in today’s party anthem era.

Sanjay Dutt

For all Sanju baba fans, there is good news. If you thought you wouldn’t be seeing much of the actor in films for some time, PK’s promos promise a top-notch performance from the extremely talented and stylish actor – something we need to enjoy on the big screen.

Social Commentary

Comedy generated through an outsider’s perspective of our lives is what PK promises to be. Raju Hirani is known for conveying a social message through his films and this one looks like its premise was built on a satirical theme – something our cinema needs to focus much more on.

Fun

Along with the social message we’ll take home, there will be moments of immense laughter and fun throughout the film, evidence being this scene where PK is seen causing himself some unnecessary trouble.

Rajkumar Hirani

Arguably the best director in the country, Raju Hirani has sat on the director’s seat after a gap 5 long years. No one knows what took him so long to return to what he does best, but what we do know is that we’re not going to miss this one for anything!

Supporting Cast

With the highly dependable bundle of talent that is Boman Irani and what looks like a vivacious Saurabh Shukla in the promos, the supporting cast in PK, just like in all Hirani movies, will infuse new life into the story. Hirani is especially knows to extract the finest performances from Boman.

Nanga Punga Dost

The most famous/infamous/controversial reason to watch PK is Aamir’s nude act. Posing with nothing but an old transistor to cover his privates, the motion poster caused a furore, followed by a song that gave it more context: Nanga Punga Dost.
