Producer Bandla Ganesh Babu's latest venture Nee Jathaga
Nenundali is a remake of
Blockbuster Hindi film Aashiqui 2. Its soundtracks, which are the dubbed versions of the original songs,
have become chartbusters thereby raising the viewers' expections to the sky
high. The makers of the movie have , released it in theatres today (August 22)
as a birthday gift yo Megastar Chiranjeevi.
Nee Jathaga Nenundali is a romantic musical drama film and the
wonderful chemistry between lead pair is the main highlight of the film.
Shagufta Rafique's engrossing script, melodious songs and amazing background
score, beautiful picturisation, sentimental scenes and beautiful locales are
other attractions of the film. The slow-paced narration is the big drawback of
the film.
Aashiqui 2 is all about how a pop icon sacrifices his
life to make a bar singer to a superstar. Director Jaya Ravindra has taken the
original story for Nee Jathaga Nenundaliand added a lot of regional
sensibilities to appeal to the local audiences. The Telugu remake boasts of lot
local flavour and sentiments.
Nee Jathaga Nenundali opens with the song 'Vintunnava nestam...',
which has been shot beautifully in a concert. Later, it heads to introduce the
lead pair and their romance. The lead pair's romance and melodious song make
the first half an interesting watch. The twist at the interval sets moment for
the story. The second half will also impress you and the climax is very
sentimental. Overall, the narration is bit slow.
Raghav Jairam (Sachiin Joshi) is an RJ-turned-pop singer, who
loses his career due to his drinking habits. He meets Gayatri (Nazia Hussain), who earns her livelihood by
singing in a bar. Impressed by her singing skills, he takes a challenge of
making her a star singer. During this process, he falls in love with her. He
successful gets her fame, but he loses his fame and bank balance for his
alcoholism. What happens next will form the crux of the story.
As lead pair, Sachiin
Joshi and Nazia Hussain have delivered performances in Nee Jathaga
Nenundali. But when compared to the original, their chemistry lacks depth
and emotion. Rao Ramesh, Shashank, Posani Krishna Murali and Shubhangi Latkar
have done justice to their respective roles in the movie.
Nee Jathaga Nenundali has superb production elements and Mithoon
and Jeet Ganguly's songs are the main attractions in the technical front. The
amazing camera work is another highlight. The dialogue, editing and other
technical departments have done commendable jobs in the film.
Overall, Nee
Jathaga Nenundali is a good musical romance drama that is almost on
par with the original movie. It may not impress mass audience as it lacks
entertainment quotient. It will surely rock the lovers of romantic
entertainers.
